Emerging Colour: Blood Orange

Lets just say its a hunch. I feel like I have been seeing blood orange everywhere, but for some reason, can not find current reference pictures to prove it. Such a vibrant, saturated colour is hard to miss when you're out and about, and it looks so lovely against sun kissed skin at the end of summer.

Seasons are changing here in London. The air has started to get a slight chill in the early mornings, and the days are just that little bit darker in the evenings. Maybe that is why it has been emerging recently; so fresh and summery, but deep and autumnal at the same time.

Yellow will show us optimism and playfulness. It will emerge not just in fashion, but in food, packaging, interiors and all facets of design. Let the sunshine in!

SS13 Colour Forecast

Summer 13, its gonna be a goody! Optimism and nostalgia fuse, bringing us colours that remind of carefree childhoods, contrasted with the muted safety of faded photographs and memories. Its like seeing the bold neon's of the 80's through instagram; vignettes, filters and exaggerated colour.
Yellow brings a level of optimism, shining bright summer vibes in even cloudy summer days. It comes in many forms, emerging from safer mustard's through to canary yellow.
White will be key giving us clarity and freshness. Many of the colour combonations will be unusual, contrasts of murky khaki, noir black or bright white against highlights borrowed again from sportswear, as last season. Although monocrome is very relevant for Summer 13, when it comes to lots of colour, we're all gonna get a bit more daring. Lets go crazy!
